A Google spokeswoman confirmed that “Bollywood” will be a part of Google’s build for the Indian market.
She added that Google is “firmly committed” to Indian talent and is looking to “continue to nurture and nurture talent in the country”.
A Google spokesperson told The Straits Times that the company has built a “Branch in India” for “Battleship” and “Distant Worlds” which is now being used for development.
The spokesperson said that the new project is not the first time Google has built an Indian branch of the product.
The Google spokesperson did not provide further details on the Bollywood branch or the other projects.
In January, Google announced a partnership with Reliance Jio for its voice and video services, and said that it would also build an Indian unit of its popular app, YouTube, with its Indian partners.
Earlier this year, Google launched a new “B-list” of Indian apps for the Google Play store that would also feature local content.
